Life of a young mother.

Ex’s and Teething

First I wanna say that I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July, and I really hope that none of you blew yourself up!!! I didn’t do anything for this Independance Day. Alyssa is too young for fireworks. I don’t want to scare her to death!!

I did however go to my old neighborhood to see everyone. It was nice until my ex *the first love I was with for years* showed up with his girlfriend. I know I have a baby with another man, but I have never seen him with another woman, and it really got to me. I didn’t expect to see him, he lives 3 hours away, and I just knew he’d be hanging out with friends down t here. What’s odd, is that I was at his aunts house. The whole neighborhood *at least 90%* are his realitives *We used to be neighbors* so I’m sure it was a shock for him to walk in and see me and my baby sitting there too. We do still go to lunch and stuff when he comes in though. We’re still friends… odd I know… but it still didn’t prepare me for that. I left… quickly! lol I wasn’t rude though, and I know the poor girl had to feel extremely akward as well. So, it was best.

Anyway…

For the past few days Alyssa has been really fussy. I’m afraid that her gums are bothering her and/or she’s getting sick. My parents have been remodeling their home, so I am hoping that those circumstances have nothing to do with how she’s feeling.

I’ve heard so many different things about what to do for babies when they’re teething that I honestly don’t know which to try and which to disgruard! Tylenol seems to help her some, although I very rarely give it to her, due to the fact that I’ve been told they can become immuned to medicines if they are used too often. I may actually need to give it to her more!!! Lol… I give her maybe a dose every week or so!
Benedryll is another that I’ve tried, only once though. I was told it works, but will knock the baby out. Of course, being my child, it did the opposite!! EEK! Talk about wired! She was acting drunk! I could tell she was sleepy, but she was going crazy! So, no more of that!!!
Oragel is the last I’m going to talk about when it comes to medicines for babies that are teething. This is something I almost purchased until I was told what some of the things that could occur due to taking it. Where it numbs their mouth, they may swallow their tounge! :( I’ve also been told that it causes their gums to harden and puts them in more pain than they would be in already. I don’t want either of those to happen, it doesn’t matter how rare the tounge thing is, I’m NOT taking that chance!!! I’m worried about everything when it comes to her. Lol… But she’s my world! I love her more than life. I’m not going to risk hers!
